Help with finding scholarships for education majors in college?

I'm considering majoring in education in college and would love advice on finding scholarships in this field. Anyone know where I could start looking or specific scholarships I should know about?

Absolutely, there are quite a few scholarships out there specifically for education majors.

Firstly, the National Dairy Shrine Scholarships offers multiple scholarships to students enrolled in an accredited college or university in the United States who are pursuing a career in education related to agriculture, to say, if you have a passion for agriculture!

The Bright Futures Scholarship Program is also a notable opportunity. This Florida-based program offers a number of scholarships for education majors, such as the Mary McLeod Bethune Scholarship, for African American students who plan to teach.

The Phi Delta Kappa Prospective Educator Scholarships are another good option if you are a member of Phi Delta Kappa International, the Future Educators Association, or are a relative of a member. They offer a number of different scholarships each year worth between $500 and $2000.

And don't forget about TEACH Grants, provided by the federal government for students who commit to teaching in schools that serve students from low-income families.

Further, there may be scholarships offered by your state's department of education or by the education department of the college you plan to attend, so be sure to check with them.

Also, keep an eye out for teacher's union scholarships. Many state and local teacher's unions offer scholarships for aspiring educators.

Lastly, use scholarship search platforms (like the College Board’s Scholarship Search or Appily) to find suitable scholarships. Enter your prospective major, and the search platforms will pull up relevant scholarships.

One important reminder: keep an eye on the deadlines. They can sneak up on you, and you definitely don’t want to miss out on potential funding opportunities. Good luck!
