Bucknell University is a private institution with around 3,700 students, located in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania. The campus culture at Bucknell is often described as driven but friendly. The university's academic reputation attracts motivated, high-achieving students who are engaged in their studies. As a result, the academic atmosphere tends to be competitive, but students also regularly collaborate and learn together in an intellectually stimulating environment.

One of the aspects of Bucknell that students consistently praise is the strong sense of community. Students describe the campus as generally inclusive and welcoming, and many form close relationships with their peers. Bucknell also provides plenty of opportunities for students to get to know one another outside of the classroom, including various student-run clubs and organizations, Greek life (with roughly half of students participating in fraternities or sororities), and division I sports teams.

In terms of extracurriculars, Bucknell offers over 200 student-run organizations, giving students ample opportunities to engage with and lead initiatives that align with their interests. These span a wide range of focus areas, including interactions with faculty and administrators, community service, club sports, music and dance groups, professional development organizations, and cultural affinity groups.

Outdoor activities are also a big part of campus life, given the university's location in rural Pennsylvania. Students regularly enjoy hiking, biking, and camping opportunities in the nearby rolling hills and Susquehanna River area.

However, every student's experience is unique and can be shaped by their own interests and the effort they put into finding activities and communities that match their passions. So, it's encouraged to visit the campus, if possible, or connect with current students or alumni to get a firsthand account of life at Bucknell.
