What is Coastal Carolina University like?

I'm interested in attending Coastal Carolina University, but I don't know much about it. Can anyone share their experience or what it's like to live and study there? Is it a good choice for out-of-state students?

Coastal Carolina University, often referred to as CCU, is a mid-sized institution located in Conway, South Carolina, just a few minutes from the beach city of Myrtle Beach. The campus is beautiful, featuring modern facilities and many green spaces. One of the notable features of campus is the HTC Center, a sports complex that hosts various sporting events and other extracurricular activities.

The university is known for its programs in business, marine science, and performing arts. Especially the coastal environment of CCU gives students a unique opportunity to study marine science. The Wall College of Business is reputable with strong programs, and the performing arts department offers robust opportunities in music, theatre, and more.

Life at CCU heavily revolves around community engagement and extracurricular activities. With over 200 clubs and organizations, there is something for everyone regardless of interest. Greek life is also a significant part of campus culture.

The athletics department is quite strong, especially the baseball team which won the National Championship a few years back. Attending games is a big part of student life, and many students participate in intramural sports teams.

As an out-of-state student, you will find that the transition to CCU can be smooth. The university offers a variety of resources to help students adjust to life on campus. Plus, its proximity to Myrtle Beach offers an array of off-campus activities, and the weather is typically warm and sunny.

However, it's also important to note that out-of-state tuition is considerably higher than in-state tuition, so consider that when making your decision. Each student's experience at CCU will be different, but overall, the feedback from students is quite positive regarding the supportive community, array of academic and extracurricular opportunities, and the appealing location.
