How is the admissions process at Colorado State University?

I’m currently a junior and interested in applying to Colorado State University. Does anyone know what their admissions process is like? Any tips on what they focus on or how to strengthen my application would be super helpful!

Colorado State University (CSU) uses a comprehensive review process for their admissions. While they do have minimum GPA requirements for admission (2.5 for Colorado residents and 3.0 for out-of-state applicants), they look at more than just your GPA and high school transcript in the admissions process. It's important to make sure you meet these qualifications as your application may not be considered otherwise.

One way to strengthen your application for CSU is to pay attention to your course rigor. CSU values students who have challenged themselves academically throughout high school. This could be through honors classes, AP or IB courses, or dual enrollment. Courses you've taken and the grades you've gotten in them are important factors in any college admissions process, so continue to work hard in your classes!

Also, extracurricular activities can reflect positively on your application. They demonstrate your interests, commitments, and leadership experiences. CSU won't be looking for a specific number of activities, but rather for meaningful engagement and development in a few areas. So if you have activities that you're passionate about, definitely include them in your application!

Be sure to accurately and fully fill out your application, as well. Attention to detail can give a good impression to the admissions committee. Finally, although CSU is a test-blind school (meaning they will not consider SAT or ACT scores at all), ensure that the rest of your application components are strong since your test scores cannot be used to bolster your application.

Remember, each application is unique and what works for one person might not work for another. Stay true to yourself in the process by highlighting your strengths and interests. Good luck with your application!
