Does Randolph-Macon College require the SAT for admission?

Is the SAT a requirement for applying to Randolph-Macon College? I've heard that some colleges are test-optional, and I want to ensure I understand their current policy.

As of the 2024-2025 application cycle, Randolph-Macon College indeed offers a test-optional admission policy. This means that applicants are not required to submit SAT or ACT scores as part of their application. This policy is intended to provide greater access for students who might perform well academically but may not test well.

However, it's important to remember that each component of your application, including grades, the rigor of your coursework, your extracurricular activities, and recommendations, is carefully evaluated by the admissions committee. If you choose not to submit test scores, these other components may bear more weight in their decision-making process.

If you believe your SAT score is an accurate reflection of your academic abilities and it falls within or above the middle 50% range of scores for admitted Randolph-Macon students, it may be beneficial to include it in your application. Conversely, if your scores are not reflective of your academic abilities or fall below the middle 50% range, it might be in your best interest to choose the test-optional route.
