How Can I Get Scholarships for College of the Ozarks?

I'm starting to think about college options and I've heard that College of the Ozarks has a unique setup. Does anyone know what scholarships are available there and how I can apply for them? Any specific requirements?

Indeed, College of the Ozarks has a unique approach to tuition, often referred to as the "Hard Work U" model. They strive to eliminate the burden of student debt by covering the entire cost of tuition for each admitted student. Rather than traditional scholarships, the college has a Work Education Program: all full-time students work 15 hours each week at an assigned work station and two 40-hour work weeks during breaks in exchange for free tuition.

In terms of applying, it's integrated into the college's admission process. When you apply for admission, you are simultaneously applying for the Work Education Program. There's not a separate application for the program.

On top of this, the college provides room and board scholarships to many students based on financial need. To apply for this, you'll need to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), which the college uses to determine eligibility.

In essence, success in securing funds to attend College of the Ozarks largely hinges on your admission to the college and demonstration of financial need, rather than securing separate scholarships. As always, submitting a polished application that accurately reflects your academic achievements and personal strengths will be beneficial. Be sure your FAFSA is completed correctly and submitted in a timely manner to maximize your financial aid opportunities.
