Any scholarships out there for political science majors?

Thinking about majoring in political science when I head to college. Are there scholarships specifically aimed at students pursuing this field? Any tips on how to find them or trusted sources?

There are indeed many scholarships available for political science majors! While I don't have an exhaustive list, here are some of the national scholarships available for political science students:

1. The Washington Center Thomas R. Pickering Foreign Affairs Fellowship: For students interested in careers in the U.S. Foreign Service.

2. Truman Scholarship: Awarded to students preparing for careers in public service.

3. Rangel Fellowship Program: Another opportunity for students interested in a career in the Foreign Service.

4. Charles B. Rangel International Affairs Summer Enrichment Program: A six-week summer program for undergraduates interested in international affairs.

5. Enrique's Scholarship from the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute: For Latino students majoring in political science or another related field.

When it comes to local scholarships, you may have more opportunities. Check whether your school, district, or city offers scholarships for political science majors. Even if they don't specifically state political science, scholarships for students interested in public service or government might be a good fit for you.

Make sure to use trustworthy scholarship search databases like Appily, Fastweb, and Scholarships.com to find opportunities. Also, contacting the financial aid office or political science department at the college you plan to attend could yield information about scholarships specific to that school. Be sure to start your search early as many scholarships have deadlines well before the start of the academic year.

Also, remember that every scholarship has its specific eligibility criteria and application process, so read through each one's requirements carefully. Good luck in your pursuit of a political science degree!
