PSAT 10 score—what can it tell me?

Hi! I just got my PSAT 10 score, but I'm not quite sure what it means or how it might relate to my future SAT score. Can anyone explain how to interpret this score, and what should I look for to gauge my performance?

Hey there! Congrats on completing your PSAT 10! Your PSAT 10 score can give you an idea of where you currently stand in terms of your academic strengths and weaknesses, and also help you predict your potential performance on the SAT.

The maximum score for the PSAT 10 is 1520. The PSAT 10 score can be broken down into a Math score (up to 760 points) and an Evidence-Based Reading and Writing (EBRW) score (also up to 760 points). Additionally, you'll find sub-scores and percentiles that provide more detailed information about your skills in specific content areas.

To get a rough estimate of how your PSAT 10 score might convert to an SAT score, you can add around 20-40 points. For example, if you scored 1150 on the PSAT 10, your projected SAT score would be about 1180. Keep in mind that studying and practice can lead to significant improvements. Good luck on your future SAT!
