What's student life like at Fairleigh Dickinson University in New Jersey?

I'm looking into Fairleigh Dickinson University (FDU) in New Jersey and I'm interested in hearing about student life there. Is there a strong sense of community? How's the social scene both on and off campus?

Fairleigh Dickinson University certainly has a vibrant student life. Being a mid-sized university, FDU offers a community that is big enough to meet a diverse range of people and interests, while also being small enough to foster close relationships and a strong sense of community.

On campus there are several ways students can get involved. FDU boasts a multitude of student clubs and organizations which span a wide variety of interests – from cultural and special interest groups to academic and professional organizations, and recreational and athletic clubs. There's something for everyone.

Multiple events are often hosted by different groups throughout the year, including festivals, conferences, and guest speaker series which add to the social scene on campus. Moreover, Knights, as the FDU students are referred, take pride in their athletic teams and often gather to cheer them on.

In addition to its on-campus activities, FDU's location offers students numerous off-campus opportunities to explore. The Metropolitan Campus in Teaneck is just ten miles from New York City, and there’s direct public transportation nearby that connects the campus with Manhattan. Thus, FDU students have easy access to all the cultural, social, and professional experiences the city can offer.

Moreover, the Florham Campus, located in Morristown, NJ, provides a more suburban experience. Its close proximity to historic sites, state parks, arts, culture and shopping, gives students a variety of recreational options when they need a break from studying. The campus is close to the Hartshorn Arboretum and Bird Sanctuary and Morristown National Historical Park, where students can engage in recreational activities or simply relax amidst nature.

So to sum it up, student life at FDU is a dynamic blend of on-campus involvement, athletic excitement, and access to the cultural and recreational opportunities that come with being close to a major urban area, as well as ample access to nature and outdoor activities.
