What are some top nursing colleges in Atlanta?

I'm considering studying nursing and am looking at schools in Atlanta. Can anyone recommend some good nursing programs or colleges with strong nursing majors in that area?

Absolutely, Atlanta has a variety of excellent institutions where you can pursue a nursing degree.

Emory University, for instance, houses the well-regarded Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing. Its Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program is known for its rigorous academic and clinical content, and for fostering strong communication and analytical skills, preparing students well for their careers on multiple levels.

Another good option within the city is Georgia State University which has a comprehensive School of Nursing. Their program, ranked among the best in the nation, offers a BSN degree with options for both traditional and ACE (Achievement Curriculum and Evaluation), which offers an accelerated track for students with another bachelor's degree under their belt.

Georgia Baptist College of Nursing at Mercer University is another to consider. It is one of the oldest nursing programs in the state and has a strong reputation for clinical instruction. They offer Traditional BSN, Accelerated BSN, and RN to BSN programs. Mercer is in Macon but has a campus in Atlanta where some of these programs are offered.

There are many other universities and colleges in nearby or adjacent areas, such as Clayton State University and Kennesaw State University, offering robust programs in nursing. It's important to remember that rankings and prestige of the program are important, but you should also consider factors such as tuition costs, class size, faculty-to-student ratio, and the types of clinical rotations available. As you visit these schools (if possible), try to identify where you feel the most comfortable personally and academically. This decision can definitely make a big difference in shaping your nursing career. Good luck with your search!
