What's the vibe at North Carolina University Wilmington like?

I'm looking at North Carolina University Wilmington for college. How is the student life there? What do students love and maybe not love so much about going to school at the beach?

UNC Wilmington (UNCW) is often described as a college with a laidback “beach vibe.” Many students appreciate its serene setting, with the campus being only 5 miles away from Wrightsville Beach. This close proximity gives them easy access to a host of beach-related activities such as surfing, beach volleyball, or simply chilling by the shore, whenever they want an escape from their academic routine.

The campus itself is also well-loved, known for its stunning arboretum and spread-out layout. It's easy to see why students often rave about the beauty of the campus and the surrounding Wilmington area. This isn't to say that everything is just sun and sand. The university has a variety of clubs and organizations, from academic and professional clubs to intramural sports and performing arts, offering a lot of opportunities for students to get involved in areas of interest outside the classroom.
