Applying for Louisiana college scholarships from out of state?

I'm considering applying to a college in Louisiana but I'm currently out of state. Does anyone know of popular scholarships for out-of-state students aiming to study in Louisiana? Any advice or resources would be super helpful!

Absolutely, there are a number of scholarships available for out-of-state students that you could consider! While some Louisiana scholarships may be limited to Louisiana residents, you'll find plenty that are not.

1. The Taylor Opportunity Program for Students (TOPS) Out-of-State Award: This scholarship is for out-of-state students who will be attending a Louisiana public or eligible private college or university. It's need and merit-based.

2. United Methodist Dollars for Scholars (UMDFS) program provides scholarships to United Methodist students attending a United Methodist-related institution in Louisiana.

3. The Horatio Alger Louisiana Scholarship Program is open to high school seniors planning to pursue a bachelor's degree in college. The scholarship recognizes students who have dealt with and overcome significant obstacles in their life.

4. The Society of Louisiana Certified Public Accountants (LCPA) Scholarship offers scholarships to accounting students attending a Louisiana college or university.

Remember to use resources like Appily, Louisiana Department of Education's Financial Aid page, and CollegeVine’s scholarship tool to find more specific opportunities based on your academic interest, extracurricular activities, and other factors.

Don’t forget to check out the scholarships page on your Louisiana college’s financial aid website as well. Often, universities offer scholarships not widely advertised, so you might find some “hidden gems” there.

Just make sure you meet the eligibility requirements before applying to save time and effort! Good luck!
