How does RIT in New York rank among tech schools?

I'm considering applying to RIT in New York and I've heard good things about their tech programs. Does anyone know how RIT ranks compared to other tech schools? Any opinions on the school's reputation would be helpful!

Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) in New York has a strong reputation as a tech-centric institution. Their tech programs are recognized nationally, with their programs in fields like computer science, engineering, and information technology being particularly distinguished. They are known for giving students a lot of hands-on experience, so many grads are quite prepared when they start their careers.

That being said, when compared to other renowned tech institutions like MIT or Caltech, RIT may not have the same recognition or prestige. However, this is not to downplay the quality of RIT's programs; it's just that schools like MIT or Caltech are among the highest echelons globally.

One way RIT differentiates itself is through its co-op program. The co-op program, built into many of the school's majors, allows students to gain work experience in their chosen field while also earning academic credit. This hands-on experience can be an asset when applying for jobs after graduation, as it allows students to practically apply what they've learned in the classroom and make industry connections.

In terms of reputation within the industry, RIT graduates are known for their practical skills and readiness to contribute from day one which makes them highly sought after by employers.

So, while RIT might not carry the worldwide recognition that some of the tech giants have, it remains a strong institution that provides a practical, career-oriented education that will equip you well for your future career in tech.
