Searching for Unique College Scholarships

I'm a high school junior curious about unique scholarship opportunities for college. Has anyone found any that are quirky or unusual but worth checking out? I'd love to hear your experiences or suggestions.

There are actually an array of unique scholarships out there, many of which are, surprisingly, under-applied! Most of them require some creativity and an open mind.

One that comes to my mind is the Stuck At Prom Scholarship Contest. Perform some DIY wizardry and make your prom dress or tuxedo entirely out of Duck Brand duct tape. Winners based on creativity receive a significant sum towards their education!

Another quirky one is the Superpower Scholarship from ScholarshipExperts, which asks you to write a short essay about what superpower you would love to have and why.

For students with a whimsical flair for naming things, there's the "Make It With Wool" Competition, which provides awards based on the applicant's ability to create and model a garment made from wool.

Remember, applying to scholarships is always a numbers game and you won't win every one. But by getting a wide variety of applications out there, you can increase your chances of attaining some financial aid. I'd also suggest utilizing the Appily scholarship database, which has a comprehensive list of scholarships you can explore.

Just remember, you shouldn't have to pay to apply to a scholarship. Avoid anyone or any organization that asks for a fee to apply—those are very likely to be scams! Good luck on your scholarship hunt!
