Any advice on finding top apparel design programs?

I'm passionate about fashion and considering a major in apparel design. Does anyone know of any colleges or universities with strong programs in this field?

Absolutely, there are a number of excellent programs in apparel design across the U.S. Let me mention a few that could be of interest to you:

1. Parson’s School of Design at The New School in New York. It is renowned globally for its design programs, including fashion.

2. Fashion Institute of Technology, also based in New York. It offers an array of specialized fashion programs.

3. The Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) in Georgia has a strong program as well.

4. The Rhode Island School of Design (RISD), offers great programs in apparel design.

5. California College of the Arts also offers a strong fashion design program.

6. University of Cincinnati's College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning has a fashion design major that's well-regarded.

These institutions are just starting points and there might be other programs that better align with your specific interests within apparel design, so be sure to explore.

In your quest to find the right program, consider how each school’s curriculum aligns with your career goals, the experience of faculty, alumni success, and the opportunities for practical experience such as internships, study abroad, and industry-focused events. It might also benefit you to get a sense of each school's culture and environment, as this can significantly contribute to your college experience.
