Scholarships for Honors College at University of Pittsburgh?

I've been looking into the University of Pittsburgh and might apply to the Honors College. Does anyone know if there are specific scholarships available for Honors College students? How competitive are these scholarships?

Yes, the University of Pittsburgh does offer scholarships specifically for students in the Honors College. One of the most prestigious scholarships available is the Chancellor's Scholarship, which goes to approximately 35 incoming freshmen each year. This scholarship provides full tuition, an annual room and board grant, a one-time $5,000 study abroad grant, and a one-time $3,000 research grant. Recipients are also granted guaranteed admission to a graduate or professional program at the university, as long as they meet the program's requirements.

The Chancellor's Scholarship is highly competitive. The majority of recipients fall in the top 1% to 2% of their high school classes and have pursued rigorous curricula. Strong consideration is also given to evidence of a student's leadership, character, and service.

Pitt Honors students are also eligible for the full range of university scholarships, regardless of the major or intended field of study. Note that being admitted to the Honors College does not guarantee you one of these scholarships, as they are awarded based on a variety of factors, including academic achievement, leadership, community service, and more. Admissions and scholarships are competitive, so it's important to showcase your achievements and potential in your application.

Good luck with your application!
