Dance scholarships for male students?

I've been dancing since forever and I'm a male dancer looking for colleges that offer scholarships specifically for male dancers. Does anyone know which schools provide these opportunities? Trying to narrow down my college list.

Indeed, funding opportunities for male dancers abound due to the underrepresentation of males in the dance field. Here are a few schools known to offer scholarships for male dance students:

1. Boston Conservatory at Berklee: They offer scholarships and grants to their students based on talent and financial need. Many male dancers attending this school have received grants and scholarships in the past.

2. University of Arizona: Their School of Dance offers several scholarships for undergraduate and graduate dancers, with some specifically designated for male students.

3. New York University (Tisch School of the Arts): While not exclusively for males, several scholarships are available to dance students demonstrating exceptional talent and potential.

4. University of Utah: The Department of Ballet and the Department of Modern Dance both offer a variety of scholarships, and have been known to encourage applications from male dancers.

5. University of Michigan, in their Department of Dance, has various scholarships available, with some past recipients being male dancers.

It's also worth noting that aside from school-based scholarships, there are quite a number of external organizations that provide scholarships for male dancers such as the Dance Council of North Texas, and the National Society of Arts and Letters.

Remember to also consider the strength of each dance program and whether it aligns with your artistic and academic goals, not just the scholarships!

Best of luck with your search and auditions!
