How difficult are different AP tests relative to each other?

Hey everyone! I was wondering if there's any sort of chart or ranking system that compares the difficulty level of various AP tests. I'm trying to plan my course load for next year, and I want to make sure I'm not setting myself up for failure by taking overly challenging classes all at once.

Hey there! While there's no official chart or ranking that compares the difficulty level of various AP exams, you can still get a good idea by looking at passing rates and general student opinions on test difficulty. The College Board releases data every year on the percentage of students who received a 3 or higher on each AP test, which can be used as a proxy for difficulty. Keep in mind, though, that this data isn't perfect, as some subjects may have more self-selection, meaning they might appear harder or easier than they actually are.

Instead of solely relying on passing rates, I recommend connecting with students who have taken those AP classes and exams at your school. Ask for their experiences to get a sense of what you can expect. Discuss with teachers or counselors, as they can also provide guidance based on your academic strengths and interests.

Remember, difficulty can be subjective, and what may seem easy for one student might be challenging for another. Focus on balancing your course load with subjects that interest and challenge you without overwhelming you, and use the feedback from your peers and teachers to make informed decisions. Good luck with your planning!
