How Do Starbucks Scholarships Work for College?

I've heard Starbucks offers some kind of scholarship or tuition assistance program for employees attending college. Can anyone explain how this works? Are there specific colleges, programs, or requirements involved? Any advice from someone who's applied?

Sure, I'd be happy to provide a bit more information. Starbucks offers a program called the Starbucks College Achievement Plan (SCAP), in which they partner with Arizona State University (ASU) to provide full tuition coverage for first-time, full-time, or part-time undergraduate students attending ASU who are working an average of at least 20 hours a week at Starbucks.

The program is exclusively with ASU's online program which ensures that eligible Starbucks partners can pursue a bachelor's degree from a wide variety of areas of study (over 80 to be exact) without paying any tuition up-front.

There are no academic requirements to apply to SCAP other than admission to ASU, and no requirement to stay with Starbucks after you graduate. You'll just need to complete your FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) to apply to the program, and Starbucks will cover any gap between your financial aid and the cost of tuition.

Please note that you have to be a benefits-eligible U.S.-based Starbucks employee (in other words, working an average of 20 hours per week) to participate in this program. Once you are enrolled, you'll need to complete a minimum number of credit hours to stay eligible.

In sum, it's an exceptional program that offers Starbucks employees a flexible and affordable way to earn a bachelor's degree. Just keep in mind that it's limited to ASU's online program. If you are looking to study at another college or want an on-campus experience, you'll need to consider your other options for financial aid.
