Scholarships for Filipino American Students for College

I'm a Filipino American high school student looking for scholarships that celebrate my heritage. Does anyone know of any scholarships available for Filipino American students? I'd love to know where to start my search!

Great initiative! While I'll list a few scholarships targeted at Filipino American students below, it's essential to cast your net as wide as possible and apply to not only heritage-based scholarships, but also those based on financial need, grades, career interests, location, etc. Don't limit your search.

1. The "Banatao Family Filipino American Education Fund": These scholarships target college-bound, low-income students from Northern California high schools. If you're pursuing a major within engineering or computer science, you could potentially get selected for this fund.

2. The "Shining Light Scholarship": The Pilipino American Unity for Progress (UniPro) offers this scholarship to Filipino American students. If you volunteer with UniPro, there may also be more opportunities available to you.

3. "Pan American Concerned Citizens Action League, Inc. (PACCAL)": PACCAL has a scholarship program for Filipino American students living in New Jersey.

4. Check in with local Filipino American organizations in your area. Many organizations offer scholarships to local student members. For example, The Filipino American Association of Philadelphia provides two scholarships to local students.

5. "Asian & Pacific Islander American Scholarship Fund (APIASF)": The APIASF offers scholarships to Asian American and Pacific Islander students, a demographic that includes Filipino American students.

Remember that applying for scholarships can be a numbers game, and it is hard to predict exactly which ones you'll receive. Remember to start your search early and apply to as many scholarships as you're eligible for to increase your chances. Good luck!
