International students: London College of Fashion scholarships?

I'm an international student keen on studying at the London College of Fashion. Does anyone know what scholarship opportunities are available for students like me, and how competitive they are?

For international students interested in studying at the London College of Fashion, there are multiple scholarships available. These include the Cordwainers Footwear Education Trust Scholarship, The Costume Society’s Patterns of Fashion Award, and The Royal Stuart Society Scholarship, to name a few.

The Cordwainers Footwear Education Trust Scholarship awards a substantial sum to international students studying for a BA (Hons) Cordwainers Footwear program. On the other hand, The Costume Society’s Patterns of Fashion Award is open to any student in the School of Design and Technology and is given out based on project outcomes. The Royal Stuart Society Scholarship is for students interested in researching historic royal dress and associated crafts.

Competition for these scholarships can be very high. Generally, scholarships are awarded based on academic merit and demonstration of financial need. In some cases, specific application essays or personal statements explaining why you are deserving of the scholarship are required. Those applying for subject-specific scholarships such as the Cordwainers Footwear Education Trust Scholarship or The Costume Society’s Patterns of Fashion Award must also provide a portfolio of their work.

To maximize your chances of success, make sure to provide all requested documentation and strive to highlight not only your academic achievements but also your dedication to fashion, creativity, and your future goals in the industry. You should also begin your research early to ensure that you don't miss any deadlines.

Keep in mind, however, that scholarships alone may not cover the entirety of your tuition and living costs. Other forms of financial aid, like loans or work-study programs, might need to be considered.

It's definitely worth applying as these scholarships can significantly reduce your financial burden and allow you to focus more on your studies and less on financial matters. Best of luck with your applications!
