What's the vibe like at High Point University?

I'm thinking of applying to High Point University but want to know more about student life and campus culture. Is it more campus-centric, or do students venture out a lot into the surrounding area?

High Point University has a vibrant on-campus life, with many opportunities for socializing, participating in clubs and organizations, and attending events. Many students describe the atmosphere as inclusive and supportive, with a strong community feel.

It's a private university, so it's on the smaller side – around 6,300 undergraduate students. This contributes to a more tight-knit feel amongst students, with people often mentioning that it's easy to make friends and find your place in various activities and groups on campus.

The campus itself is known for its beautiful and modern facilities, including the wellness and fitness centers, dorms, and dining options. There's a strong focus on providing high-quality amenities for students. Many students seem to be quite on-campus oriented since there's simply so much to do within the campus itself.

That being said, it's not completely insular. The university is located in High Point, North Carolina, which is part of the Piedmont Triad with Greensboro and Winston-Salem. So, students do have opportunities to venture out to explore local attractions, restaurants, and shopping spots, especially when they're looking for weekend activities or internships.

High Point University tends to attract hard-working students given its renowned programs in business, communications, and health professions. However, it's not only about academics as the university shows a strong commitment towards leadership and character development, instilling a very forward-thinking and entrepreneurial spirit among its students.

Just make sure you visit the campus, if possible, as there is no better way to get a direct and personal perspective of a university's vibe than getting a sense of it for yourself! During campus visits, you'll be able to interact with current students, see the campus facilities firsthand, and even sit in on some classes if you can arrange it.
