What's Providence College really like?

I'm considering applying to Providence College and would love to hear from anyone who's attended. What’s the campus vibe like? Also, how are the academic programs and campus activities?

Providence College, located in Rhode Island, is a medium-sized school with a student population around 4,000. It's a Dominican Catholic institution, though students of all faith backgrounds do attend. The campus vibe tends to be friendly and close-knit, with a lot of opportunities for community building.

In terms of academics, Providence College prides itself on blending a solid liberal arts curriculum with professional studies. One of the hallmarks of the college is their Development of Western Civilization Program, a two-year, interdisciplinary course that's part of the core curriculum. Their business program and the school of health also receive high marks.

In terms of campus activities, there's plenty to choose from. The Friars men's basketball games are a popular sporting event, as the team has had numerous successful seasons. Friars hockey, soccer, and lacrosse matches also generate a fair amount of attention. Additionally, the Student Congress, Board of Programmers, and various clubs and organizations provide a host of activities, from formals to guest lecturer events, creating a vibrant on-campus life.

Just remember that what might work for some might not work for others. Make sure to research more about the college and see if it aligns with your interests and goals.
