Are there Arabic scholarships for international students?

I've heard of scholarships for Arab students wanting to study abroad. Do such opportunities exist for international students, especially those of Arab descent?

There are many scholarships directed at supporting Arab students and students of Arab descent. While some scholarships may be specific to the nation you currently reside in or the country you plan on studying in, others are universal and not bound by nationality.

One example is the Arab American Association's Dr. Adawia Alousi STEM Scholarship Fund for Women, which caters to female students of Arab descent pursuing studies in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics fields. Another example is the Hope Fund program supported by AMIDEAST which provides financial support to students from the Middle East and North Africa.

Further, numerous universities have region-specific scholarships for Middle Eastern and North African students. For example, if you consider studying in Australia, the Australia Arab Council Scholarship at Deakin University is designed for Arab students, providing them with partial tuition fee coverage each year.

Do note that these scholarships have different requirements in terms of GPA, major, etc., and some might require an essay describing your heritage, academic goals, or ways you plan to give back to the Arab community. Therefore, it's crucial to thoroughly research and find out which opportunities best suit your profile and future aspirations.

Also, keep in mind that many of these scholarships are quite competitive, so it's important to maintain a good academic record and actively participate in community activities to stand out amongst other applicants. Using search engines such as Appily could help you find even more options. Good luck!
