UCR admission requirements?

Hey all, I'm gearing up to apply for college and I've been looking at UCR. Can anyone walk me through the main requirements for admission? Like, what GPA should I be aiming for and do they require SAT/ACT scores for the upcoming application cycle? Would appreciate any advice!

Hi there! I'm glad to hear that you're considering the University of California, Riverside (UCR). For the University of California system, including UCR, the admission requirements are generally consistent across the campuses. Here are some key factors you should keep in mind:

GPA: You should aim for a high school GPA of 3.0 or above for California residents, and a 3.4 or above for non-California residents. Of course, the higher your GPA, the more competitive your application will be.

Coursework: UCR, like other UC campuses, requires completion of a set of A-G courses. Make sure you meet this requirement to be eligible for admission.

Test Scores: As of now, UCR, along with the entire UC system, has adopted a test-blind policy for Fall 2024 admissions. This means they will not consider your SAT or ACT scores in the review process, even if submitted.

Extracurriculars and essays: UCR, like other UC campuses, also values your involvement in extracurricular activities and your personal insight essays. These aspects of your application help illustrate your unique perspectives and passions.

Good luck with your application!
