Carnegie Mellon scholarships for international students

I'm looking into Carnegie Mellon and am eager to learn about any scholarships available for international students. Does Carnegie Mellon offer substantial financial aid to internationals?

Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) has a reputation for being quite generous with its aid packages. However, with regards to international students, it's important to know that financial aid opportunities can be somewhat limited.

CMU offers need-based aid to a select group of international undergraduates. This means the amount of assistance you receive is calculated based on your family's demonstrated financial need. But you must also be aware that the aid is quite competitive, as the funds are limited.

Besides need-based aid, CMU also offers merit-based scholarships, like the Presidential Scholarships which are awarded to first-year students for their academic and extracurricular achievements regardless of their citizenship. While most of these scholarships are awarded at the time of admission, a separate application may be required for some scholarships.

It's also essential to remember that while CMU makes every effort to provide financial aid to international students, it may not completely cover the cost of attendance. It's always a good idea to also look into external scholarships and grants.

Lastly, CMU's Financial Aid Office is a great resource when it comes to finding more opportunities. They can always provide the most up-to-date and accurate information about scholarships and financial aid options.
