Full scholarships at Harvard University for international students?

I'm dreaming of attending Harvard University, but as an international student, I'm hoping to find full scholarships. Does anyone know if Harvard offers such scholarships, and how competitive they might be?

Harvard University operates on a need-based financial aid policy, and this extends to international students as well. The university is committed to ensuring that finances should not be a barrier to students who wish to study there.

What this means is that Harvard evaluates your family's financial situation after you're admitted and then gives you a financial aid package that meets 100% of your family's demonstrated need. For most students who receive aid, this package consists of a mix of scholarships, work-study funding, and student employment opportunities.

For families earning less than $65,000, parents pay nothing. Families with incomes between $65,000 and $150,000 will contribute from 0-10% percent of their income, and those with incomes above $150,000 will be asked to pay proportionately more than 10%, based on their individual circumstances.

Applying for financial aid has no impact on whether or not you’re admitted. It's need-blind, so the admission officers will not know who has requested financial aid and who has not.

However, it's worth noting that Harvard doesn't offer merit-based scholarships. All their financial aid is need-based. In terms of competitiveness, while you will not be competing for a limited pool of scholarship funds, you will be contending for admission into the university itself, which is highly competitive, but once admitted, your financial need will be completely met.

Ensure that you fill out all the necessary documents for financial aid in due time. The documented details should be as accurate as possible to ensure the most precise financial aid package.

In essence, it may not be a "full scholarship" in the traditional sense, but Harvard's generous financial aid program can often make it feel as though it is. So, if you're admitted, the university will make sure that you're able to attend.
