Colleges options in Maryland?

I'm considering colleges in Maryland for my applications. Other than UMD, what are some other schools I should look into? I'm interested in schools with strong science programs and active campus communities.

Absolutely, Maryland hosts several universities that are known for their strong science programs and vibrant campus communities.

To start with, Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, renowned for its programs across all sciences, is a great choice. It's globally recognized, particularly for its Biomedical Engineering and Public Health programs, if those align with your interests. The campus community is quite active and diverse.

Next, you should consider the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC). Known for its programs in Biological Sciences and other STEM fields, UMBC also offers a lively campus experience with various clubs, sports, and events.

Another option is Towson University. While it might not have the same global recognition as Johns Hopkins or UMD, Towson has strong programs in Applied and Industrial Mathematics, and Molecular Biology, Biochemistry and Bioinformatics, among others. The university has a wide array of student-led organizations, enhancing its campus community activities.

Lastly, there is Loyola University Maryland. Loyola has a robust science department, with programs in fields like Biology and Chemistry. Loyola is also known for its close-knit community and small class sizes, which can offer a more personalized educational experience.

Try to visit these campuses if you can, either virtually or in person. This can provide you a firsthand sense of the community and the vibe of each school.
