Requesting a letter of recommendation?

Hi! So, I know we need letters of recommendation for college applications, and I'm kind of stressed about it. How do I go about asking teachers for one? Should I pick teachers with whom I have a good relationship or teachers from more relevant subjects? Any advice would be awesome!
