Good nursing programs in Florida?

I'm set on pursuing nursing and am primarily looking at schools in Florida. Can anyone recommend some good nursing programs in the Sunshine State? I'm interested in both BSN programs and those with strong clinical training.

You've got a great selection of nursing programs right in Florida! I'll suggest some, focusing on programs that provide strong theoretical knowledge as well as hands-on clinical experiences.

1. University of Florida (UF) – Located in Gainesville, UF's College of Nursing is considered one of the top nursing programs in the state. It provides robust BSN programs which include traditional, accelerated, and RN to BSN options. Their program includes the opportunity for clinical experiences at Florida's largest health system, UF Health, as well as other diverse healthcare settings.

2. University of Central Florida (UCF) - UCF's College of Nursing in Orlando provides BSN programs with a strong reputation. A cool aspect here is UCF's partnership with the healthcare simulation company, UCF Lake Nona Medical Center where students get real-world experience with high-fidelity simulations.

3. University of Miami (UM) – UM’s School of Nursing and Health Studies in Coral Gables offers a well-rounded program with state-of-the-art simulators and clinical training at a variety of local healthcare facilities.

4. Florida State University (FSU) – Located in Tallahassee, FSU's College of Nursing offers a traditional BSN, accelerated BSN, and an online RN to BSN pathway. What's unique about FSU is its Interprofessional Clinical Simulation Center, providing students with a realistic healthcare setting for simulated learning activities.

5. Florida Atlantic University (FAU) - FAU's Christine E. Lynn College of Nursing, located in Boca Raton, offers a solid BSN program. Their program places a particular emphasis on holistic care, and students have the opportunity to gain clinical experience at top-ranked local hospitals.

Remember, the best program is one that fits your specific needs and professional goals. I would recommend visiting each school's website to learn more about their curriculum, admission requirements, and resources. Good luck on your nursing journey!
