Opportunities for International Student Scholarships in California?

I'm considering colleges in California, but I'm concerned about the costs. Are there any scholarship programs for international students that I should look into? Any recommendations would be super appreciated!

Many California colleges offer merit-based scholarships to international students, but these can be quite competitive. However, there are a few other options you may want to consider.

First, look into private scholarships that are open to international students. One example is the Davis Putter Scholarship Fund, which provides grants to students who actively participate in struggles for civil rights, economic justice, and other social issues.

Additionally, some universities have partnerships with organizations such as the MasterCard Foundation Scholars Program. University of California, Berkeley, for instance, collaborates with them to provide academically talented yet economically disadvantaged young people, particularly from Africa, access to quality and relevant education.

Also, universities on their own might also provide financial aid. University of Southern California has a few scholarship programs for international students like the Presidential Scholars program and the Trustee Scholarship.

On a different note, you may also consider community colleges. As an international student, your tuition would be higher than for a domestic student, but it would still typically be less expensive than a four-year university, and you might then be able to transfer to a four-year university later.

Lastly, keep in mind that working while studying can also help cover some living costs. International students are typically allowed to work on-campus and during school holidays.

Remember to explore each university's financial aid webpage or contact their financial aid offices to get the most accurate and up-to-date information. Hopes this helps! Good luck!
