SAT Math: Lines, slopes, and geometry strategies

Hey, can anyone share some tips or strategies for tackling lines and slopes in SAT Math? Geometry always trips me up and I'd appreciate any advice or resources to help me understand it better. Thanks!

Hey! It's good to see you're working on improving your SAT Math skills. For lines and slopes, remember that the slope-intercept form of a linear equation is y = mx + b, where m is the slope and b is the y-intercept. To find the slope, use the formula: m = (y2 - y1) / (x2 - x1), given two points (x1, y1) and (x2, y2) on the line.

For geometry, make sure you have all the basic formulas memorized, like the area and perimeter of different shapes. Don't forget the special right triangle rules (e.g., 3-4-5 triangles, 45-45-90 triangles, 30-60-90 triangles). Also, be familiar with the Pythagorean theorem and properties of parallel and perpendicular lines.

Khan Academy offers excellent, free resources for SAT Math with videos and practice questions to help you with lines, slopes, and geometry. Additionally, CollegeVine has helpful resources like essay guides and a chancing engine to support you on your college application journey. Remember, consistent practice is key, so keep working through problems and reviewing areas where you're struggling. Best of luck!
