How to get scholarships as an international student at BYU Provo?

I'm really interested in attending Brigham Young University in Provo but am worried about tuition as an international student. Does anyone know what scholarships I might be eligible for and how competitive they are?

Brigham Young University (BYU) Provo offers a number of scholarship opportunities for both domestic and international students. These scholarships can be academic-based, need-based, or talent-based.

1. The BYU Academic Scholarships: These scholarships reward students who have demonstrated a high academic performance. The scholarships are awarded based on GPA, test scores, seminary, school, and community involvement, and other factors based on information found in the admission application.

2. BYU Need-Based Scholarships: These scholarships are awarded to students who have demonstrated a financial need. To apply, you have to submit the International Student Financial Aid Application, and the number of awards varies each year, based on the availability of funds.

3. Talent Scholarships: These are offered by individual departments (Art, Dance, Music etc) to students who have demonstrated exceptional ability in their field. You would apply directly through the respective department.

The scholarships at BYU are highly competitive, with many students applying each year. With that in mind, it's important to make your application stand out. Your academic performance, involvement in extracurricular activities, and any special talents you may have can all play a significant role in receiving a scholarship.

Also, remember that even as an international student, you can apply for external scholarships not associated with BYU. Look for organizations in your home country that might sponsor students studying abroad or search websites that collect scholarship opportunities for international students. Remember, every bit of financial aid helps. Best of luck!
