Organizations providing scholarships for international students?

I'm looking into various scholarship options as an international student. Can anyone recommend organizations that are known to provide scholarships or grants? Any tips on how to improve my chances of receiving one?

Sure, as an international student, there are quite a few organizations that provide scholarships or grants. The Fulbright Program is a well-known international exchange program that offers scholarships for students pursuing graduate studies. This is a competitive grant that requires its applicants to exhibit strong academic and leadership accomplishments.

The Rotary International Grants are another avenue worth exploring. These are more oriented towards community service and leadership, so having a background in these areas will improve your chances.

The American Association of University Women offers fellowships and grants to international women pursuing graduate studies in the US.

Another grant to consider is the Tata Scholarship for Cornell University, offered to students from India wishing to pursue undergraduate studies.

The Science, Mathematics and Research Conversation (SMART) Scholarship from the Department of Defense is also an excellent opportunity for students pursuing studies in STEM disciplines.

As for tips for applying - start early, tailor each application to the organization, and show how you meet their specific eligibility criteria. Always proof-read your applications and have a mentor or a teacher go over them too, to avoid any errors. And of course, don't underestimate the power of persistence – it might take a few tries before you land a scholarship.

Remember, these are just a few examples. There are countless other scholarships available for international students, so do your research and find which ones align best with your academic and personal strengths. Good luck!
