Are there American scholarships specifically for international high schoolers?

I'm from abroad and really interested in attending high school in the U.S. Does anyone know of American scholarships that help international students and how competitive they are? Trying to figure out if it's a realistic option.

There are indeed scholarships available for international students to attend high school in the U.S. However, they can be quite competitive since many international students seek to gain a high school education in the U.S.

The Kennedy-Lugar Youth Exchange and Study (YES) program is one such scholarship. It was established in 2002 and provides scholarships for high school students from countries with significant Muslim populations to spend up to one academic year in the U.S.

Another option could be the Future Leaders Exchange (FLEX) program. It offers scholarships to high school students from Europe and Eurasia for an academic year in the United States.

On a regional level, many private schools offer financial aid or scholarships to international students. However, you must look into the specifics of each school's aid offerings. Keep in mind, many scholarships are based on merit and can be highly competitive, so doing well academically would be of benefit.

It's always worth reaching out to the schools you're considering attending to see if they offer financial aid or scholarships to international students. Each school will have its own unique set of criteria for eligibility. Remember, these programs are incredibly competitive, and applying does not guarantee you'll receive a scholarship.

Ultimately, researching thoroughly and communicating directly with potential schools will give you the most accurate information about scholarship options. It also may be beneficial to consider other ways to finance your education, such as private loans.
