Where to find scholarships in Ontario for international students?

I'm interested in attending a university in Ontario, but as an international student, I'm curious about available scholarships. Could anyone point me in the direction of good resources or share personal experiences with Ontario scholarships?

Finding scholarships as an international student looking to study in Ontario can be a bit challenging but certainly not impossible. Universities in Ontario often offer their scholarships, so you could start by looking at your prospective university's website or contacting their financial aid office. Schools like the University of Toronto and McGill University have extensive scholarship programs, some of which are open to international students.

The Ontario Trillium Scholarship program is another good resource. It's a merit-based scholarship specifically for international PhD candidates studying in Ontario.

For external scholarships, the Canadian Bureau for International Education (CBIE) offers a resource called "CanLearn" which is dedicated to helping all students, including internationals, find scholarships.

You can also check with EducationUSA, a resource provided by the U.S. Department of State, as well as with your home country's Ministry of Education or equivalent office. They often have information on international scholarships.

In terms of non-institutional scholarships, the Ontario Graduate Scholarship (OGS) program provides funding for students from around the world to pursue graduate studies in Ontario.

You may additionally consider Appily, a scholarship search platform that gathers scholarships from multiple sources. While not fitted only for international students, it could provide a comprehensive list of what's available.

Lastly, remember to keep deadlines in mind and start the application process early. Some scholarships require an application separate from your university application, and these might have earlier deadlines. Good luck with your search!
