Opportunities for food science scholarships in the U.S. for international students?

I'm fascinated by food science and want to study in the U.S. Are there scholarships in this field for international students? Any suggestions for universities or organizations that have such scholarships?

There are numerous scholarships available for international students pursuing degrees in food science in the U.S. Please note these opportunities might need further investigation as some of them may be available only to U.S. citizens, permanent residents, or students studying in certain countries.

1. The Institute of Food Technologists (IFT) offers several scholarships, including the IFT Feeding Tomorrow Undergraduate and Graduate Scholarships, targeting students pursuing degrees in fields related to food science and technology. While many of their scholarships are limited to U.S. students, there are a few, such as the IFT Sensory and Consumer Sciences Division Scholarship, that are available to international students studying in the U.S.

2. The American Society for Nutrition Foundation (ASN) offers the Clinical Nutrition Internship Program (CNIP) scholarships. Although not a traditional scholarship, this program offers funding for students to complete an immersive experience with a clinical nutrition professional.

3. Universities themselves also offer scholarships to international students. For instance, Cornell University has a number of scholarships available for international students, some of which could be applicable to students studying food science.

It might also be worthwhile to research teaching assistantships, research assistantships, or work-study programs at your chosen universities. These often pay a stipend and/or cover a portion of your tuition costs.

Do remember to check the specific eligibility requirements for each scholarship before you start your application! Scholarship availability can also vary from year to year, so it's important to check on their up-to-date status.
