Aviation scholarships for international students—any leads?

I'm passionate about aviation and looking into studying it internationally. Are there any scholarships specifically for international students pursuing aviation studies? Any advice on where to find these opportunities would be amazing!

Absolutely, there are definitely scholarships available for international students pursuing aviation studies. In fact, one of the biggest sources of these scholarships is professional aviation organizations. They often have funds specifically set aside to support the next generation of airplane pilots, air traffic controllers, aircraft engineers, and other aviation professionals.

One such example is the International Society of Women Airline Pilots (ISA+21), which awards scholarships to women pursuing pilot training. Another is the University Aviation Association (UAA), which provides scholarships to students who are already enrolled in an aviation program. While these scholarships are primarily geared towards U.S. residents, it is still a great place to start and it may be possible to find opportunities that are open to international students.

Moreover, there are a number of colleges and universities that offer scholarships for their aviation programs. Some of these may be specifically for international students. For example, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, which has one of the best aviation programs in the world, provides scholarships to their international students.

Additionally, do check out The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), a specialized agency of the United Nations, as they also provide scholarships and training opportunities for aviation students from many countries.

Lastly, Appily (formerly Cappex), Fastweb, and other online scholarship databases also have sections dedicated to international students, which may contain opportunities for aviation students.

Remember, scholarships often have specific eligibility criteria, so be sure to review the thoughts thoroughly to ensure you fit the profile before applying. Good luck with your scholarship research!
