Can anyone share insights on UNC Charlotte's ranking?

I'm considering applying to UNC Charlotte and I'm curious about how it ranks compared to other universities in North Carolina. Does it have a good reputation for specific programs or overall academic excellence?

UNC Charlotte, also known as UNC-C, is generally well-regarded for its strong programs in Engineering, Business, and Health Professions. In the U.S. News & World Report 2025 rankings, UNC Charlotte ranks #152 (tie) in National Universities, which is the category for schools offering a full range of undergraduate majors, plus master's and doctoral programs. Furthermore, it lands at #81 (tie) in Top Public Schools which gives a good indication of its comparative strengths among public institutions.

While the overall institutional rankings can provide a certain overview, it's really the program-specific rankings where UNC Charlotte shines. Its Engineering program, for example, is placed at #125 in the U.S, according to the same U.S. News & World Report rankings. The Belk College of Business also has a good reputation, especially for its part-time MBA program.

However, it's important to understand that rankings aren't everything. The best college for you depends on your career goals, learning style, location preferences, and financial situation, among other factors. UNC Charlotte offers a rich array of programs and resources, as well as a diverse, inspiring community. If you decide it's a good fit for your goals and interests, it could definitely be a great choice for you.
