Airlines offering full ride scholarships for international students: Is it a thing?

I've heard that some airlines might offer full ride scholarships for international students. Is this true? If so, which airlines should I be looking into, and what are the requirements?

While it's generally rare that airlines offer full-ride scholarships specifically for international students, some do have programs in place to offer financial aid for specific fields of study, most notably aviation-related disciplines such as aerospace, engineering, and piloting. These types of scholarships often pop up when airlines partner with certain educational institutions or communities.

Emirates Aviation University in Dubai, affiliated with Emirates Airlines, provides various scholarships. These scholarships are not full-ride but may cover up to half of the tuition for undergraduate and postgraduate programs in aviation.

Also, airlines themselves may have partial scholarships or financial aid available to assist their employees or the children of their employees. Take Lufthansa, for example. They offer the Lufthansa USA Internship Program, which doesn't cover tuition but offers students in aviation-related programs the opportunity to intern with the airline.

The American Airlines Education Foundation also awards annual scholarships to children of employees.

A point to note is although these scholarships may not cover full tuition, they can make a significant difference in meeting educational expenses. Each program, however, has its specific requirements and qualifications. Please make sure to investigate these thoroughly to figure out if you qualify, and remember to search for additional scholarships, grants, and financial aid that may be available through the institutions you're interested in.

Remember that while these scholarships may help, studying abroad can be expensive, and there is likely to be other costs that you'll need to cover, such as living expenses and books. Consider those factors as well in your planning.
