Scholarships available for Nigerian students internationally?

I'm from Nigeria, and I'm eager to find scholarships that are specifically available for Nigerian students to study abroad. Anyone know of any resources or scholarships that have been helpful in the past?

Absolutely! There are quite a few scholarships explicitly designed for Nigerian students to study abroad.

1. Aga Khan Foundation International Scholarship: This scholarship focuses on postgraduate students from developing countries, including Nigeria. The Foundation gives a limited number of scholarships to students each year and covers the full cost of tuition, living expenses, and airfare.

2. Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program: This scholarship is for African students, including Nigerians, who have demonstrated academic talent and a personal commitment to improving their countries. Partner universities in the U.S., Canada, and other countries host students who are recipients of this scholarship.

3. African Leadership Academy (ALA): The ALA provides scholarships for African students to study at partner universities around the world. Notably, the ALA's Anzisha Prize gives a scholarship for young entrepreneurs who have initiated and implemented innovative solutions to social challenges or started successful businesses within their communities.

4. Tony Elumelu Foundation Entrepreneurship Programme: This is an impactful initiative that offers 10,000 training, mentoring, and funding opportunities for aspiring African entrepreneurs, including those from Nigeria.

There's also a tool called Appily, which lets you enter your details and match you with relevant scholarships.

Remember that scholarship applications can be competitive. Be sure to focus on your unique experiences and perspectives in your application essays, and maintain good academic standing to increase your chances of receiving scholarships. Good luck!
