Finding scholarships in Holland for international students?

I'm exploring study opportunities in Holland and want to know more about scholarships for international students. Are there any specific scholarships to be aware of or any application advice from other students who've been through the process?

There are several scholarships and grants available specifically for international students who wish to study in the Netherlands.

1. Holland Scholarship: This is actually financed by the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture, and Science together with Dutch research universities and universities of applied sciences. The scholarship amounts to €5,000 which you’ll receive in the first year of your studies.

2. Erasmus+: This is an EU programme that supports education, training, youth and sport in Europe. It offers funding to study at various levels, including Bachelor's, Master's, and PhD, and includes an Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degrees option.

3. Orange Tulip Scholarship: This scholarship is for students from Brazil, China, Indonesia, Korea, Mexico and Vietnam. Dutch higher education institutions and companies jointly offer this scholarship.

4. Netherlands Fellowship Programmes (NFP): Although this isn't a scholarship, I thought it worth mentioning. The aim of the NFP is to aid in the capacity building of professionals by offering fellowships for short courses in the Netherlands.

In terms of application advice, it's always crucial to start your search and application process early. Different scholarships have different deadlines and some of them can be as early as a year before you begin your studies.

A strong scholarship application often includes a well-written statement of purpose answering why you're a strong candidate for the scholarship, what you plan to do with your degree, and how your proposed study aligns with the scholarship or grant's mission or values.

Plus, don't forget to check your eligibility for multiple scholarships and remember to apply to as many as you can to increase your chances. Good luck!
