What are some good jobs right after high school?

I'm considering going straight into the workforce after graduating high school. Could anyone share some entry-level jobs that offer decent pay and potential for growth? I'm curious about different industries and positions.

Starting work right out of high school can be a great way to gain valuable experience and start earning income early. It's important to consider industries that not only offer entry-level positions, but also provide room for growth and opportunities to develop skill sets. I'll share a few examples:

1. Technical jobs: If you have a technical inclination, positions such as an electrician apprentice or HVAC technician can be solid starting points. These usually require some vocational training, but often you can get that on-the-job. Many of these jobs have decent starting salaries and the potential for growth is considerable as you acquire advanced skills and certifications. The demand for skilled tradespeople is typically high.

2. Healthcare support roles: Jobs like pharmacy technician, medical assistant, or home health aide can be achieved with minimal certification and they offer good opportunities for growth, particularly if you're considering a career in the medical field later on.

3. Sales and customer service roles: Positions in sales or customer service, like retail associate or customer service representative, can offer good foundational skills for a business-oriented career. They might not pay significantly well at the start, but they can lead to higher-level jobs in sales, management, or marketing.

4. Hospitality Industry: Roles such as restaurant server or hotel receptionist can also provide good pay (especially when tips are factored in) and opportunities for progression into management roles.

5. Public service roles: Positions in community support such as a library assistant or park ranger may not always provide high pay, but they do offer stable employment, benefits, and room for progression.

6. Manufacturing and logistics: Roles in warehouses, distribution centers, or manufacturing facilities often offer on-the-job training and have clear paths for career progression.

Remember, the best job for you after high school will depend on your interests and long-term career goals. Many successful people have started their career journeys in such roles, so there's no limit to where these initial jobs might take you!
