Do jobs check if you graduated high school?

I'm thinking about applying to some entry-level jobs and was wondering how often employers verify high school graduation. Do they usually check if you graduated high school, or is it more of a formality on applications? Any experiences?

Most entry-level jobs will request that you provide a high school diploma or equivalent during the hiring process. This information is generally taken at face value during the application process, however, during the hiring process, some employers may want to verify this information, especially if the job requires certain skills or knowledge usually gained during high school. Jobs in certain sectors, like government or education, are particularly likely to verify educational credentials due to regulations around hiring.

In terms of experiences, it varies considerably depending on the job and the employer. Some people report that their employers never asked for proof of graduation, while others have had to provide a copy of their diploma. Often times, honesty is the best policy when applying for jobs. Misrepresenting your education can lead to dismissal if discovered later. Many employers are more concerned with seeing a strong work ethic, good communication, and other soft skills in their employees, especially for entry-level positions. I would encourage you to consider all of these factors while applying for jobs.
