Good jobs for guys after high school?

As a guy who's about to finish high school, I'm trying to brainstorm some good career options. What types of jobs do other guys usually go for right out of high school?

There are numerous career paths you can explore straight out of high school. Depending on your interests or skill sets, the following possibilities may be worth considering:

1. Trades:

Many young men pursue careers in trades, such as electricians, plumbers, welders, or carpenters. These typically involve on-the-job training or apprenticeships and offer good income potential.

2. Technology:

The tech industry offers many opportunities that don't always require a college degree. Careers in coding, web development, IT support, and cybersecurity are booming.

3. Sales:

If you have strong interpersonal skills and enjoy engaging with people, a job in sales might suit you. From real estate to retail, opportunities are vast.

4. Emergency Services:

Positions in firefighting, policing, or emergency medical services (EMS) offer the potential for those who enjoy physically demanding jobs that also serve communities.

5. Military:

Enlisting in the military provides numerous career pathways, with the opportunity for training in specialized areas like aviation, engineering, or healthcare.

6. Entrepreneurship:

If you have a business idea and the drive to work for yourself, starting your own business could be an option. This path requires initiative, creativity, and resilience.

Remember, the "best" job depends on your interests and goals. It's not about what "other guys" usually do, but about choosing a career that aligns with your strengths and ambitions. Consulting a career counselor or mentor can also provide personalized guidance and resources.
