Is URI a good choice for me?

I'm weighing my options and the University of Rhode Island is on my list. How does URI fare in terms of campus life, academics, and community? Would love to hear from current students or recent grads about their experiences!

The University of Rhode Island (URI), located in Kingston, offers a vibrant campus life, strong academics, and a supportive community.

In terms of academics, URI has over 90 majors to choose from across a variety of fields. Many students commend URI's engineering, pharmacy, nursing, and business programs. The course rigor can vary depending on the program and classes you take, but many students report that the professors at URI are knowledgeable, accessible, and invested in their students’ success.

Campus life at URI is vibrant and engaging. There are over 100 clubs and organizations to join, providing opportunities for leadership, personal development, and making friends. Greek life is present, but not overwhelmingly so. Additionally, URI’s athletic teams, particularly basketball and football, gather student support and school spirit.

The community atmosphere is one of the defining features of URI. The university is large enough to provide a diverse range of perspectives and experiences but small enough to foster a sense of belonging. Students often describe a friendly, welcoming atmosphere on campus.
