What Are Some Tech Related Jobs Right After High School?

I'm planning on diving straight into a tech job after finishing high school. Does anyone have suggestions for tech-related jobs that don't require a degree? I’d love to start gaining experience and work my way up!

Entering the tech industry right after high school without a degree is certainly possible. There are a number of positions where your interest and knowledge in tech will be valuable. Here are a few:

- Help Desk Technician: This role involves assisting company employees with hardware and software issues. Building your computer troubleshooting skills can be done on your own, which makes this a good entry-level position.

- Junior Web or App Developer: If you have coding skills, you might pursue work as a junior developer. You can gain coding expertise through online learning platforms, and practice it by building your own applications, projects or websites.

- IT Sales Associate: Perfect for someone with tech knowledge and good communication skills. You will basically be selling tech products or services, requiring you to understand and explain them well.

- Quality Assurance Tester: This role involves testing software for bugs. It requires a good understanding of software and attention to detail but not necessarily a degree.

Remember, the tech industry often values experience and demonstrable skills over formal education. Work on your skills, create projects to showcase them, and network with professionals in the field. Optional certifications like CompTIA A+ for tech support or specific language certifications for developers can also boost your resume. Good luck as you start your career journey in tech!
