Trying to find the best colleges in Washington, DC

I’m really interested in attending college in Washington, DC. Could anyone share insights on which colleges are highly regarded there and what makes them appealing?

Sure, I'd love to share some insights! Washington, D.C. hosts several well-regarded colleges and each has its unique appeal.

First up, Georgetown University is a standout among colleges in D.C. for its rigorous academics and diverse offerings. The School of Foreign Service at Georgetown is particularly renowned and can provide amazing opportunities for students interested in international relations, thanks to its location in the political heart of the country.

The George Washington University is another one to consider. Situated in Foggy Bottom, this institution boasts a wide array of programs across different disciplines. Notably, its programs in political science and international affairs are particularly robust.

American University is another commendable institution, especially renowned for its programs in International Relations and Journalism. The School of Communications, in particular, offers students opportunities to engage with media and journalism in a city where politics and news converge.

Howard University, one of the nation's leading historically black colleges, is known for its strong programs in the health sciences, social sciences, and its accredited Business school.

Catholic University, as the national university of the Catholic Church in the United States, integrates spiritual education in its curricula and is especially known for theology, architecture, and nursing.

Last but not least, Gallaudet University is a federally chartered private university for the education of the Deaf and hard of hearing. It's one-of-a-kind and truly demonstrates D.C.'s diversity in universities.

Keep in mind that each of these universities has a different vibe and different strengths. I would recommend thinking about your prospective major, campus culture, and college size, among other factors when making your decision. I hope this helps!
