What are some good job options for high school graduates?

I'll be graduating soon and am considering entering the workforce before deciding on college. What are some good jobs out there for recent high school grads that pay decently and offer some growth opportunities?

That's a great question! The workforce is full of opportunities that don't require a college degree, and many of these have good growth potential.

1. Trade jobs: Skilled trades like electricians, plumbers, and HVAC technicians are in high demand and often pay well. You might consider trade school or an apprenticeship program to get started.

2. Sales representatives: If you have good communication skills, sales can be a rewarding field. Many companies have entry-level sales roles and it's a profession with high earning potential, especially in the tech sector.

3. IT Support: Many companies hire IT support analysts straight out of high school, and the pay can be quite good. Some even offer tuition reimbursement if you decide to go to college later on.

4. Military: Joining the military can be a great option as well. It comes with a steady paycheck, benefits, and opportunity for career advancement. Plus, they offer educational benefits if you decide to attend college later.

5. Civil service: Jobs in the local, state, and federal government sector such as administrative support roles, park rangers, postal workers, or emergency service dispatchers can be a great fit as they often offer good benefits and flexible hours.

6. Real Estate: If you have good people skills and a knack for sales, becoming a real estate agent can be lucrative. It does require passing a licensing course, but it can lead to a high earning potential.

Remember, these are jobs you can do without a degree, but further education or training after high school can still increase your earning potential and job opportunities. Good luck with your decision!
