What are some high paying jobs with minimum schooling?

I'm not a fan of extensive academic paths but still want to secure a high paying job. Which fields or roles require the least schooling but still offer good pay? Any suggestions on quick-entry careers with potential?

Absolutely, you have several high-paying career options that require relatively minimal schooling. Here are a few:

1. Registered Nurse: Becoming a registered nurse generally requires an associate's degree in nursing or a bachelor's degree in nursing, both less than traditional 4 years, and passing the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-RN). The median annual wage for registered nurses was $73,300 in 2020.

2. Radiation Therapist: Radiation therapists must complete an associate's degree or a bachelor's degree program in radiation therapy, followed by certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. The median annual wage for radiation therapists was $85,560 in 2020.

3. Plumber: Plumbers usually undergo a vocational training program and then complete an apprenticeship. The median annual wage for plumbers was $55,160 in 2020, but those with their own company or specialized skills can make significantly more.

4. Air Traffic Controller: Air traffic controllers usually earn an associate's degree from the Air Traffic Collegiate Training Initiative program and then complete a training course at the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) academy. The median annual wage for air traffic controllers was $130,420 in 2020.

5. Commercial Pilot: To become a commercial pilot, one must earn a high school diploma, complete flight training with a certified flight instructor, and have at least 250 hours of flight experience. The median annual wage for airline pilots, copilots, and flight engineers was $160,970 in 2020.

6. Web Developer: Many web developer roles require only an associate's degree and a good understanding of programming languages and design principles. The median annual wage for web developers was $77,200 in 2020.

Remember that even though they don't require a four-year degree, these careers still involve specialized training and, in some cases, licensing exams or certifications. Furthermore, just like with any job, entering at a high salary level often requires earning your stripes through years of experience and working your way up the ladder.
